Ng replaces Farah Sadiq, who left the agency in January. He will report to managing director Greg Wood.
"We were looking for someone who can turn a brief into a campaign that goes beyond simply buying online ad space and delivers results that the client can see - be it a game, a blog or viral," said Wood.
"We need great thinkers and doers to keep our approach fresh - especially in the media area."
Ng has worked at DBS since 2003, latterly as assistant vice-president, business development, DBS iBanking. He also had spells with Tribal DDB, Publicis and AdXplorer.
Ng said that in his capacity as media director at Profero, he would be advocating the digital space to clients and "driving thought leadership in this area".
