Newsweek picks Yeung to take on Proctor's GM job

Newsweek has promoted Theresa Yeung to the position of GM Pacific edition, replacing Frank Proctor, who left the company after eight years in the role.

Based in Hong Kong, Yeung will be responsible for circulation, production and administrative operations as well as the development of foreign language editions.

"I am ready to move on to focusing on circulation and audience development...I have indeed handled quite a few different jobs at Newsweek," said Yeung, who joined the publication in 1976 and has since held roles in advertising, marketing and research. "One of the key (challenges in the new role) is to build and maintain quality and profitability of circulation in the midst of strong competition from both conventional and new media."

Yeung was most recently Newsweek's Pacific director, responsible for advertising sales and marketing operations in Asia-Pacific, excluding Japan.
