Newsweek Pakistan is being published in collaboration with Pakistani media company AG Publications.

Rhona Murphy, publisher and managing director of Newsweek International,  said,  “Good journalism, and good journalists, are vital in a country that plays such a crucial regional role, and we believe that the Newsweek Pakistan team will be a valuable addition to the country’s increasingly robust media.”

The agreement to launch Newsweek Pakistan was confirmed in March, several weeks before the Washington Post Company announced its plans to sell Newsweek magazine. The Post Company has since agreed to sell the publication to audio entrepreneur Sidney Harman.

The Pakistani edition, to be published in English, will be the seventh magazine published under local license for Newsweek, the only American newsweekly to publish local-language editions with an approximate aggregate circulation of 600,000.
