New social media company launches in China

SHANGHAI - Shanghainese marketing, advertising and communications agency BA360 and media agency Mailman China have jointly launched the social media company ZeroDegrees, aimed at designing and producing social marketing campaigns for Chinese audiences.

ZeroDegrees will work through traditional digital channels, as well as China’s range of social networks.

The announcement comes as several agencies, including wwwins Consulting earlier this month, have also launched products, units and agencies to track conversations and build presence for brands on social media sites.

“The key problem with social media in China, or social media in general, is that the most effective way of utilising these networks still hasn’t been discovered,” said founder and strategy director of BA360 Rand Han in a release.

“Through a series of in-house experiments with social media we’ve discovered an excellent way to create loyalty, affinity, and trust for our client brands through the creation of cost-effective social media communities, and engaging conversation-marketing through China’s many social media sites.”
