New rail line sees 880 new ad sites up for offer in HK

The completion of the new KCR East Rail terminus in Tsim Sha Tsui and the Ma On Shan Rail is projected to add 880 extra advertisement spaces on the network.

Marcus Pang, assistant marketing manager of TDI, the advertising representative for KCRC, said the majority of passengers on the Ma On Shan Rail, the extension to the existing East Rail line, would likely be residents in local housing estates, and clients are likely to come from within the community. High-profile labels are likely to favour Tsim Sha Tsui East station, at the heart of a fashionable shopping district. Confirmed clients include jewellery outlets Ma Belle and TSL, as well as Rockport, Osim and Crocodile. Details on the advertising space arrangements following the proposed KCRC-MTRC merger have not yet been received, Pang said.
