New marketer joins Coca-Cola in China

SHANGHAI - Coca-Cola has appointed a new marketing director for brand Coke in China.

Anubha Sahasrabuddhe  relocates from Hong Kong to Shanghai. The post reports to Coca-Cola China marketing director Jean-Francois Dekimpe.

The development comes as the company looks to define the scope of brand Coke marketing unit Red Lounge’s remit when the Olympics are over. Currently, Red Lounge - which draws on agency talent from Leo Burnett, Starcom and Wwwins, among others - is geared solely for the Olympics, but is expected to continue after the Games.

In addition, Red Lounge managing director Wasim Basir will depart after the Olympics. Basir returns to India after eight years in China.

Michael Wood, CEO at Leo Burnett Greater China, which oversees Red lounge, confirmed that a successor would be appointed shortly.
