New, who spent three years at CNBC, will join WSG in August as senior VP of sales. Based in Singapore, New has a brief to drive regional business. “I’ve loved my time at CNBC, and the last 12 months have been the most successful we’ve ever had,” said New. “But I’d rather be living and breathing something that is in my blood — sport.”
A replacement at CNBC has been shortlisted, and president and MD Jeremy Pink will handle New’s duties in the meantime.
Before CNBC, New was president of sponsorship consultancy Red Mandarin Asia-Pacific. He also had a stint as SVP for European advertising, promotions and sponsorship for Visa International.
