NBA ties up with Phoenix Petroleum in marketing partnership

PHILIPPINES – The National Basketball Association (NBA) has signed a multi-year marketing partnership with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines.

Phoenix will bring NBA experiences to fans in the Philippines

As the official partner of the NBA in the Philippines, Phoenix Petroleum will be integrated into NBA media and events in the country, including NBA’s country website and the Jr. NBA, the league's youth basketball development programme supported by Alaska Milk Corporation.

Phoenix Petroleum will also conduct NBA-themed promotions in 300 service stations nationwide, bringing NBA experiences and prizes to fans in the provinces.

This is the first time that Phoenix is partnering with a global brand like the NBA, according to the company.

“Due to the massive appeal of the NBA in the country, the company wants to capitalise on the global brand of the NBA, and offers consumers exciting experience at the retail locations, as well as help develop the youth through sports,” said Celina Matias, Phoenix Petroleum brand manager.

Carlo Singson, NBA country manager, Philippines, said the oil company’s established reputation in the Philippines will help strengthen the league’s efforts in the country, and the Jr. NBA is an ideal tip-off event as both companies share a commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among youth through sport.

Phoenix Petroleum, headquartered in Davao City, will have an on-site presence and conduct promotional activities for all the Jr. NBA programme events in the city, including a coaching clinic tomorrow, a school clinic on 3 February, and the Jr. NBA Regional Selection Camp, on 9-10 March.
