Nair and Mehta to spark Grey creative

MUMBAI - Grey has reworked its creative line-up in India and Malaysia, bringing in Priti Nair from Lowe India and promoting Gautam Mehta to run its creative department in Kuala Lumpur.

Nair joins as national CD, replacing Prathap Suthan who “leaves the agency to pursue other interests”.

Over a 17-year career in advertising, Nair started off at DART in 1990, then moved to Leo Burnett in 1991 where she rose to creative director. She joins from Lowe, where she spent nine years working on Surf Excel, Clinic All Clear and Axe. Nair said: “It’s an exciting time to be part of Grey and its new vision and I’m looking forward to steering its transformation, and working closely with the teams.”

Grey Malaysia’s creative director Gautam Mehta, who joined from Ogilvy & Mather in 2006, has been promoted to ECD. He will oversee accounts, including Sara Lee, AXA, Maybank, Tiger FC and Perodua.

Also in Kuala Lumpur, Irene Wong, previously client service director, has been named associate general manager. Wong, who joined the agency in 2005, will run Maybank Retail & Enterprise Financial Services, Genting Highlands Resort, Wyeth and Yeo’s accounts, with a remit to grow new business.
