MySpace Australia throws weight behind Earth Hour

SYDNEY - Popular community site MySpace has announced it will support WWF's campaign to encourage Sydney business and consumers to switch off their lights for one hour on Saturday evening.

The deal will see MySpace launch a redesigned homepage for 36 hours over the weekend, as part of the wider campaign.

An initiative of Leo Burnett Sydney in conjunction with WWF, the push is aimed at drawing attention to global warming, educating people that they can make a difference in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The event is the start of a prolonged 12-month campaign to reduce Sydney’s emissions by five per cent.
