The Western Australia-based Multiplex consortium is to con- struct the A$310million (US$182million) Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is due to open in 2002.
The consortium, which includes Multiplex Constructions and Accor Asia Pacific, was chosen by the state government after lobbying by the Perth Convention Bureau.
The venue will include a convention centre for up to 2,000, banqueting facilities, a 17,000sqm exhibition centre and a sports stadium.
