MTV to launch Korean digital community

MTV has revealed plans to launch a new online and mobile community in Korea, which will serve as a template for further launches across Asia. <br><br> The new venture - MTV Boombox - will combine on-demand programming and downloadable content with a music community site kitted out with video blogs, podcasting, file uploads and personalised home pages. <br><br> The broadband and wireless platform will roll out in three phases starting this month with the full of range of applications targeted to be available by the third quarter of this year. <br><br> MTV Networks Asia Pacific president Nigel Robbins said: "Korea's advanced technology allows us to deliver our world-renowned content in ways never seen before, and sets the tone for our future digital growth throughout the region." <br><br> MTV also flagged up sponsorship opportunities for advertisers on the new platform, including full TVC streams and exclusive content unavailable on free to access sections.
