MTV Networks AP chief tipped to step down

MTV Networks Asia Pacific has declined to comment on speculation that network president Nigel Robbins will step down from his role, with some sources tipping his departure to take place as early as this week.

Robbins (pictured), formerly MD of MTV Networks Australia before replacing Asia Pacific head Frank Brown in January this year, has not responded to Media's requests for comment, while MTV Networks' senior VP communications Todd Philips also declined to comment.

The high-level uncertainty follows a troubled few months for the entertainment giant, which has seen the departure of MTV stalwart Tom Freston, ousted by the Viacom board amidst alleged concerns over the company's underperforming stock price, the sudden departure of senior sales exec Toby Hayward in July, the postponement of its regional awards show, and a significant restructure of its operational resources last year.
