MTV names communications chief

MTV communications veteran Todd Phillips has been appointed senior vice president, communications, MTV Networks Asia Pacific, following a five-year stint as a strategic consultant with MTV in Australia and the US. <BR><BR> The news follows the recent departure of senior director of communications Hemant Kenkre, who stepped down following the network's global cutbacks in late 2005. Phillips has been tasked with managing trade and consumer media relations, as well as directing the company's internal and external messaging. Phillips first joined MTV Networks in 1990, gaining experience in Hong Kong and Singapore before moving to the US, where he became VP of corporate communications for MTV in Los Angeles.
