MTV.com Japan launches free video streaming service

TOKYO - MTV Networks Japan has launched a free online video streaming service for a wide range of music videos and clips from the network's international content library.

Company partnerships include major record labels Universal Music and Warner Music. Visitors will be able to gain access to MTV’s original dramas and animation titles such as The Hills, MTV Cribs and Usavich.

"Our streamed content has always been free for users to access.  The issue previously has been the volume of content being relatively low and the user experience being relatively poor.  These are both substantially improved with this new service," explains Minemura Masami, director of communication for MTV Networks Japan.

Advertisers can take advantage of the video-on-demand function on the site to promote their products.
