MSN selects Edelman
MSN has awarded Edelman its regional consumer and corporate PR business, following a pitch that also included Ogilvy PR, Weber Shandwick and Upstream Asia.

The agency is expected to focus on rollout of the Windows Live online platform, which will see MSN step up its offensive against Yahoo and Google. Edelman, which also scooped MSN's trade PR business in late 2005, already holds a large swathe of Microsoft PR business in the region, including the Xbox regional retainer and Microsoft corporate brief. While MSN has worked with Upstream Asia in the past, MSN communications manager Ngaire Moyes noted that the account was, effectively, a new one.

"The PR account hadn't been active for some time, so we've gone about putting in place a PR team in all of our markets and at a regional level," said Moyes, who joined the company earlier this year.
