Mr Fareed Zakaria, the managing editor of foreign affairs and a
Newsweek contributing editor, was named editor of Newsweek
International. He will be responsible for the content and direction of
Newsweek's overseas editions.
Mr Zakaria will join the magazine in January following the completion of
a book project.
Further, national affairs editor Mr Steve Strasser was named managing
editor of Newsweek International.
A 23-year veteran of Newsweek, Mr Strasser has held the post of National
Affairs Editor since May 1999 and had been Asia editor since January
1996.
