<p>Mr Fareed Zakaria, the managing editor of foreign affairs and a </p><p>Newsweek contributing editor, was named editor of Newsweek </p><p>International. He will be responsible for the content and direction of </p><p>Newsweek's overseas editions. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Zakaria will join the magazine in January following the completion of </p><p>a book project. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Further, national affairs editor Mr Steve Strasser was named managing </p><p>editor of Newsweek International. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>A 23-year veteran of Newsweek, Mr Strasser has held the post of National </p><p>Affairs Editor since May 1999 and had been Asia editor since January </p><p>1996. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>

Mr Fareed Zakaria, the managing editor of foreign affairs and a

Newsweek contributing editor, was named editor of Newsweek
