Starhub has appointed PHD Singapore as its media agency following a competitive pitch. The account is won for a two-year tenure. Incumbent is WPP's Mindshare, that had the account since 2022. As part of the mandate, the agency will drive an integrated media and content strategy for the Singaporean telco. Innocean has elevated Jung A Kim as global CEO, succeeding William Lee. Kim first joined the agency in 2006 as executive creative director, before becoming chief creative officer in 2021. In her two-decade career at the agency, she has led campaigns for brands such as Hyundai, Hanwha, Google Korea, and Domino's Pizza, which includes the Cannes Lions Grand Prix winner, 'Night Fishing'. She will take on the chief executive role from November 1.
FCB Neo has appointed Saksham Kohli as president, bringing over 20 years of experience in integrated communications. With expertise in digital, new-age marketing, he will lead integrated strategies across content, media, and commerce and drive integrated marketing and brand storytelling. He joins from Cheil Worldwide, where he was most recently associate vice president following a six-year tenure at the agency. He's also held leadership roles at Ogilvy, FCB Global, and McCann Worldgroup, where he worked with brands including BMW, KFC, and Pernod Ricard. Based in Mumbai, he will report to CEO Ashima Mehra.

He joins Microsoft, following an eight-year tenure across roles including director, retail media, JAPAC, and head of channel partnerships, JAPAC. South China Morning Post (SCMP) has announced the departure of Catherine So after serving over three years at the helm as CEO, as the Hong Kong-based newspaper overhauls its senior leadership. Prior to joining SCMP in 2022, she spent seven years as managing director, APAC at Expedia, and has held senior business development roles at News Corp, REA Group, and Groupon. In addition, SCMP has appointed editor-in-chief Tammy Tam to the newly formed role of publisher, following her 14-year tenure at the newspaper. She first joined SCMP in 2011 as a senior editor before climbing the ranks to deputy editor and EIC. She will be succeeded by executive editor Chow Chung Yan as head of the newsroom. The changes were announced by board chairman Joe Tsai in an email to staff on Monday, who emphasised the need to align editorial and business strategy for the "commercial success and financial stability of our organisation." Tsai described So's stint as CEO as a "privilege and honour," adding that the outgoing chief now plans to embark on professional studies overseas.
Virginia Hyland has launched Squad M&A, a consultancy that specialises in commercial, financial, and legal strategy to help independent agencies navigate sales, mergers, and partnerships. The launch is her latest move following her departure as CEO of Havas Media Australia in July, where she served nearly five years as chief. In 2020, she sold her eponymous agency Hyland Media to Havas. In this new venture, she has partnered with former WPP and Omnicom CFO Vince Meoli and commercial lawyer Stephen von Muenster.
HubSpot, a leading customer platform, has appointed Megan Hughes as managing director & vice president of sales for the Japan, Asia Pacific, and India (JAPAC) region, an expanded role from her previous position as ANZ country lead and senior director of sales at HubSpot. In her new role, Hughes will oversee HubSpot's business growth, sales strategy, and operations across Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and India. Joined HubSpot over four years ago, Hughes’ career journey includes regional leadership positions at enterprise technology organisations such as Hootsuite and LogMeIn.
Independent creative agency Special has promoted Zoe Alden to head of business management. Since joining Special in 2023, Alden has played a key role in managing some of the agency’s largest accounts and leading campaigns that have driven measurable business impact for clients, including Kiwibank and Fisher Funds. Alden worked at DDB and OMD before Special.
Walmart China has appointed Peng Liu as president of Sam's Club, reporting directly to Zhu Xiaojing, president and CEO of Walmart China. Liu previously worked at Alibaba Group, serving as general manager of Tmall Global, president of Tmall's import and export business, vice president of Alibaba Group and president of the B2C retail group, and president of Taotian Group's brand business development centre. Prior to joining Alibaba Group in 2015, Liu held various leadership positions at Goodbaby China, Media Markt China, Suning Appliance, and Haier Group.
