Motorola puts faith in mobile video

HONG KONG - Motorola senior director of entertainment Jason Rubinstein estimates the mobile entertainment industry will be worth more than US$6 billion by 2010, nominating mobile video a key development in transforming the industry.

Rubinstein noted that the key challenge for providers of mobile entertainment will be providing internet video in a way that fits with the requirements of content providers. Rubinstein also tipped the mobile music entertainment industry to be worth $2 billion by 2010.

Asia is currently the largest market for mobile entertainment, with 1.2 billion consumers currently using data services.
