The development is expected to see Motorola corporate vice-president and North Asia GM Michael Tatelman take charge of Asia-Pacific excluding India, with Motorola North Asia marketing head Ian Chapman-Banks likely to assume charge of regional marketing for the region.

At press time, it was still unclear how the restructure would affect Motorola high- growth markets marketing chief Neil Stewart. "They are still discussing various opportunities and roles with him," said a source familiar with the situation, "Because they want to keep him and he wants to stay."
