Mori takes over at Grey Daiko
<p>Following the departure of Mr Steve Bretschneider at Grey Daiko, </p><p>who has retired after five years of heading up operations at the shop, </p><p>Mr Teruya Mori has been named CEO and president. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>He joins from DDB Japan, where he was most recently executive </p><p>vice-president. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The agency had been thirsty for a Japanese head," said Mr Mori. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Grey Daiko has had two ex-patriate presidents over the past five years, </p><p>and of course there were limitations in driving morale and forging </p><p>relationships with the Japanese staff." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>With a career spanning 30 years in the industry, Mr Mori is keen to </p><p>bring the agency's operations to international standards. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Japan is still lagging four to five years behind its US, European and </p><p>Asian market counterparts - we are still in a stage of development." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>As the agency's billings increased by 23 per cent to Y15 billion </p><p>(US$165 million) in '99, Mr Mori said he would be boosting new </p><p>business growth with an increased transparency drive. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Once people we as an organisation are driven in a transparent manner, </p><p>they feel confident in the spirit of the agency as well as by the </p><p>calibre of work we produce". </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
