More channels on StarHub for Malay audiences

SINGAPORE – StarHub will expand its line-up of channels to offer more content for its TV viewers, particularly Malay audiences.

It will bring in the MNC Business and ONE channels, from 22 July.

MNC Business is a 24-hour Indonesian-language channel that offers the latest business and financial news and in-depth reports on various economic issues.

To be shown on Channel 121, MNC Business caters to the local and Indonesian business community who have interest in the Indonesian market and business relations between the two countries.

The 24-hour ONE (Malay) channel, meanwhile, will be available on Channel 124. It is a mirror service of ONE at Channel 823, launched to cater to the growing interest in Korean content especially among the young Malay community.

The channel will offer viewers subtitles in Bahasa Melayu for all programmes, with dual sound in Korean and Bahasa Melayu available for selected shows.

Distributed by Sony Pictures Television's networks, Asia, ONE (Malay) is the third feed of its first Asian entertainment channel on StarHub TV.

Ricky Ow, senior vice president and general manager, networks, Asia at Sony Pictures Television, said the success of the high-definition version of ONE in Malaysia reflects the great potential for ONE (Malay) to be enjoyed by Malay-speaking audiences in Singapore.

"Working with StarHub TV, we are glad to share the joys of the latest and finest Korean content in Malay localisation. The launch of ONE (Malay) is perfectly timed to add to the fun and festivities leading up to the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebrations,” he added.
