Shangri-La Hotel Hangzhou

Sofitel Xanadu
Sofitel Xanadu is a resort-style hotel sitting next to a lake within the World Leisure Folk Garden, where the first World Leisure Expo was held last year. The 301-room hotel offers a ballroom that can accommodate 320 people and ten function rooms. There are two restaurants serving Chinese and western cuisine, and two bars. Other facilities include a sauna and a fitness centre. Facilities for rowing and sailing are also available within the hotel. The airport and railway station are both a 20-minute drive away.

Hyatt Regency Hangzhou
All 390 guestrooms offer views of Hangzhou’s best-known attraction, the West Lake. Event
and meeting facilities include a ballroom that can hold 800 people, the Residence, a suite of
nine function rooms and a 530 sqm rooftop garden. The hotel has hosted events such as
the IBM Asia-Pacific corporate meeting and events of between 200 and 500 delegates from
companies such as Johnson & Johnson and BMW. The hotel is 40 minutes from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and within walking distance from the city’s business and entertainment area.

Cruise the West Lake
Quaint bridges and charming islets dot the West Lake, which is flanked on three sides
by hills. The lake takes on a different look as the seasons change, adding to the charm of
Hangzhou’s best-known spot. Cruises are available both day and night.
Hangzhou Xihu Tiandi
On the south bank of the West Lake, Hangzhou Xihu Tiandi is an entertainment and shopping cluster that recreates the region’s architecture. There are landscaped gardens and a few preserved historical sites.
Meijiawu Tea Plantation
Hangzhou is known throughout China for its green tea and this tea village close to the
West Lake Park is home to some of the most famous plantations in the region. Groups
can enjoy tea ceremony demonstrations and tasting sessions in an authentic setting.
COMING UP
Four Points by Sheraton Hangzhou, Binjiang, 30 minutes’ drive from the airport, is due to
open in October. The hotel will have 350 rooms and 1,600 sqm of event space.
The 400-room Sheraton Hangzhou, Qianjiang, will open at the end of next year in a mixed-use building close to Qiantang River.
The 330-room Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou City Centre will open in 2008 next to the 330-room JW Marriott, which will open at the end of 2009. The JW Marriott will have 1,650 sqm of event space, including a 950 sqm ballroom that will be shared with Courtyard.
Both Marriott hotels are part of an 80,000 sqm mixed-use complex within the city’s central business district.
