Modem Media lands Cathay creative work

HONG KONG: Cathay Pacific Airways has appointed Modem Media as its interactive creative agency to develop the airline's online marketing initiatives in Hong Kong.

Modem Media will handle Cathay's digital marketing communications, working with the carrier's marketing department to develop online solutions for upcoming campaigns in Asia.

According to the online services company, it was awarded the business based on the "merits of its strategic and innovative creative concepts and customer-centric approach to online marketing". Edwin Cheung, Modem Media's account manager for Cathay, said: "We got this business not just on our previous work that we have done for Cathay, but because of our understanding of the client's business."

Modem Media will handle the interactive creativity, while the media portion of the account remains with Universal McCann.

Olivia Wong, Cathay Pacific's manager for marketing communications, said: "Modem Media's customer-centric approach to digital marketing and its ability to deliver across multiple digital touch points, including banners, email or wireless devices show it is a serious player."

Modem Media developed and implemented the original interactive strategy followed by Cathay for the previous versions of its website. It also developed digital style guides for the airline.
