Digital veteran Ken Mandel has joined the team in an advisory capacity. Previously with Yahoo and WPP, he will work alongside existing advisors such as Dirk Eschenbacher, regional and digital ECD, as well as Fritz Demopoulos, the former CEO of Qunar.
Commenting on the appointment, Mandel said, “I am thrilled to be part of the Mobile Now growth story. How could you not bet on mobile, gaming and application development in this region! With their strong presence in China and Singapore regional sales office Mobile Now is extremely well positioned to be a major mobile ecosystem player in Asia Pacific and beyond.”
Mobile Now will also set up another office in China, making the total number of offices in the country to two. Originally launched in 2009 in Shanghai, the company has now grown into a 30-people team, focusing on apps and games across multiple platforms.
Thomas Meyer, co-founder of Mobile Now, noted that mobile is still in its infancy despite smartphone proliferation, and he believes that mobile’s true potential is still to be reached.
“We are very proud to have come such a long way in a relatively short period of time,” he added.
Mobile Now has delivered more than 20 app solutions, including commissioned projects for Standard Chartered Bank, Lonely Planet, Devere, Greenpeace, Xinhua, Meici and BAT.
Additionally, they recently helped entrepreneurs bring IP initiatives to market, such as a lunchtime dining app in Europe Hungry, as well as a personality test for the ‘Organization for Enneagram Studies eType’.
