MIFC picks McCann and FutureBrand

KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC) has awarded its strategy brief to McCann Erickson and FutureBrand as the body looks to position Malaysia as the world's foremost Islamic financial services hub.

The IPG agency pairing saw off competition from Naga DDB and Interbrand, Lowe and Landor Associates and local agency Chimera to claim the business.

MIFC is a collective of Malaysian financial regulators and Islamic banks, which aims for Malaysia to be recognised as a global centre for Islamic finance ahead of rival hubs such as Dubai, Bahrain, Hong Kong and Singapore.
