Microsoft Taiwan review attracts three agencies

TAIPEI: Microsoft Taiwan has put its home and retail account up for review, which agencies have dubbed as the 'Xbox pitch'.

However, Microsoft's head of marketing services in Taipei, Nora Chung, denied the pitch was focusing solely on the Xbox, a video game system.

"It's our annual pitch for the home and retail division, and it includes both game and hardware devices,

she said.

Pitching agencies include J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson and incumbent Euro RSCG. The winning agency will begin work from July, the start of Microsoft's fiscal year. The Xbox has been a big hit in markets where it has already been launched.

Xbox was was rolled out in the US, Canada and Japan late last year. Europe and Australia followed in March, with launches in key Asian markets likely within the next few months.
