Microsoft promotes two at entertainment and devices division SEA

SINGAPORE - Microsoft's entertainment and devices Division (EDD) has named two senior managers in Southeast Asia, promoting Alan Chou (pictured) and Erik Ford respectively.

Alan Chou has been appointed senior group marketing manager for EDD SEA, taking responsibility for the overall marketing of businesses including Xbox 360, Microsoft Hardware and Office For Mac in the region. He joined as the regional marketing manager for Xbox 360 in 2007.

Erik Ford takes over Chou’s previous portfolio and will manage the sales and marketing of Xbox 360 consoles, games and accessories. Ford had worked as senior product manager in the APAC Xbox 360 team managing third-party publisher relations as well as product marketing across five Asian countries.

Simon Tan, director, EDD SEA, said: “The current economic downturn has not deterred our continual investment to help realize the potential of Microsoft employees. Erik, a gaming industry veteran, will take the Xbox 360 business in Singapore to the next level while Alan will take the lead in spearheading our marketing efforts for our EDD businesses in SEA. We believe this change will help drive higher growth in this dynamic region for the long term.”
