Microsoft drops Wunderman from BTL business

SINGAPORE - Wunderman Singapore has lost its grip on the agency's globally-aligned Microsoft business, prompting a wave of retrenchments within the agency's creative department.

A spokesperson at Microsoft confirmed that the partnership officially terminated last month, and that a review was underway for a new local AOR to handle its BTL business.

Wunderman Singapore has reportedly axed its entire creative and tech department in the process. Regional EVP Stephane Faggianelli denied losing the business in Singapore and simply stated that "Regionally, we are the agency of record for Microsoft, we just weren't invited to pitch for a local project at the end of last year." "Basically, we are reorganising in Singapore to service our clients better," he said in response to the recent retrenchment.

"As we told Media last year, our next step will be an acquisition which we will announce in 3-4 months."
