MediaTV: Sorrell on media

In the fourth part of Media's exclusive interview with Sir Martin Sorrell, the WPP chief executive discusses the future of media, and whether 'traditional' media will ever regain its past importance.

In the interview, sponsored by The Economistand conducted by Media’s editor-in-chief Atifa Hargrave-Silk, Sorrell predicts a rebalancing of media, with the relative importance of newspapers and TV continuing to diminish. 

Considering new media platforms, he weighs up the strengths of various social networking and video-sharing sites. “Most of the social media sites are extremely good for public relations, but not advertising," he says.
