The three telcos and the national broadcaster will jointly conduct a consumer trial using Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) technology from next month.
Up to 300 customers will participate in the trial to watch a variety of TV programmes, including Barclays Premier League footage from StarHub and Cantonese movies from SingTel.
“The convergence of broadcast media and telecommunications technologies is ably demonstrated on the DVB-H platform,” said Neil Montefiore, CEO of M1.
“We hope to better understand consumer preferences to redefine realistic service standards,” added Lucas Chow, CEO of MediaCorp.
