MediaCorp reshuffles again as Ang resigns

SINGAPORE - MediaCorp has promoted James Yip (pictured) to take charge of all its advertising sales across television, radio and print - following the resignation of MediaCorp Studios MD Melvin Ang.

The development marks an expansion of Yip’s current duties, which include overseeing advertising sales at MediaCorp’s Channel NewsAsia, radio stations, Today newspaper and a stable of 16 magazines.

Yip becomes EVP of sales; his previous radio MD role will be handled by deputy CEO of news, radio and print Shaun Seow until a replacement is found.

Yip’s enlarged portfolio will also see him taking charge of the airtimes sales at the company’s general entertainment channels, which was previously handled by Ang.

According to a MediaCorp statement, Ang has resigned to pursue other interests; deputy CEO Chang Long Jong will cover his MediaCorp Studios duties in the interim.
