MediaCorp in roll- out of local edition of US gaming title

MediaCorp Publishing has launched the first Asian version of US-gaming magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) in Singapore.

Licensed from US-based Ziff Davis Media, the magazine hit the stands earlier this week. MPB chiefs are hoping the title will achieve initial distribution of more than 10,000. According to MediaCorp, the US version's circulation exceeds 525,000. Eighty per cent of the content will come from the US EGM, with the other 20 per cent sourced from Singapore and other parts of Asia. "The target audience is all gamers, because gaming is non-ageist," said Joseph Dorall, associate director marketing for MediaCorp Publishing. "But it's a more male oriented target group." There are no plans as yet for the magazine to be rolled out in other markets in Asia.
