MediaCorp eyes Malaysian market with new titles

As Singapore's publishing scene reaches saturation point, MediaCorp is expanding its Malaysian publishing operations with local launches of Style and Style Weddings, both slated for release next March.

Dubbed 'magalogues', Style and its bi-annual bridal subsidiary title will both feature fashion news and trends for women, with a small segment on men's fashion. Style will also include regular supplements on topics such as accessories, seasonal trends.

MediaCorp's Malaysian unit currently publishes Emap titles FHM and Mother & Baby.

"We're very excited because Malaysia is a much bigger market," said Mok Lee Lee, general manager of MediaCorporation Publishing (Malaysia).

"Consumers here are also getting more savvy and the launches of Style and Style Weddings come at the right time."
