At Blu Inc Media, Pang oversaw the launch of Chinese-language fashion and lifestyle magazines into China and Malaysia. She was previously at MPH Magazines as group editor, following a career as a producer and presenter with the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation.
Pang replaces current MediaCorp Publishing managing director Philip Koh, who now moves across to run MediaCorp Radio.
Koh will keep his role as MediaCorp Press and MediaCorp Consultants chief.
Both will report to MediaCorp News, Radio, Print deputy CEO Shaun Seow.
“The appointments are in line with our practice of getting the right person for the job - from outside the company or rotating senior executives internally,” said Seow. “We believe that this will help increase our management bench strength.”
The move brings to an end a three-year stint for Koh running MediaCorp Publishing. During his reign, he oversaw the launch of Arena and Electronic Gaming Monthly and revamped I-Weekly, Asian Driver, Lime and Family.
Koh also engineered the acquisition of licences for Mother & Baby, FHM, Asian Diver and Elle, introduced Style and Style Wedding to Malaysia earlier this year and was responsible for MediaCorp moving into customer publishing.
Koh’s appointment as head of radio fills the gap left by James Yip, who moved from the MD role to take charge of the company’s newly-combined advertising sales unit in February.
Last November, MediaCorp decided to bring its media divisions under one brand, MediaCorp News, Radio, Print, to offer advertisers cross-platform packages and sell less popular inventory. In addition, Alan Seah was hired as executive creative director earlier this year, with a brief to integrate the company’s creative services teams.
