Amaysim launched in November as Australia’s first low cost mobile service provider.
The company was founded by Christian Magel and his team of entrepreneurs. Amaysim's European founders previously launched a similar mobile company, Simyo, that quickly grew to become a market leader in its category in Germany, Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
According to Mediacom, they have been working with the telco brand since August, collaborating with all partners to launch this innovative brand to market.
“The Amaysim guys are a very smart group of people with true entrepreneurial spirit,” Toby Jenner, CEO of Mediacom said. “It’s not that often we get to launch a new brand to market from scratch, a brand which we think will be a great success in the Australian market.”
Magel added. “We are delighted to be working with Mediacom on the launch of our brand. The integrated media approach will be very important to Amaysim’s success at launch and over the next few months.”
