Media Prima retains Starcom after four-way pitch

KUALA LUMPUR - Media Prima, the Malaysian media giant, has awarded its TV network's media buying business to Starcom Mediavest after a four-way tussle involving Universal McCann, OMD and MEC.

The Publicis Groupe agency, the incumbent on the US$3 million account, will oversee strategic media planning and buying for the media group’s four television stations TV3, 8TV, ntv 7 and TV9.

Farid Ridzuan (pictured), group CEO of Media Prima’s TV networks, remarked: "Starcom’s in-depth knowledge and fresh insights will bring our network to a higher level in terms of strategic media planning.”
