MEDIA-I: ZDNet tech title hits Australian newsstands
<p>SYDNEY: Despite grim economic conditions and a downturn in the </p><p>technology sector, ZDNet Australia has launched Technology & Business, a </p><p>magazine for IT professionals, this month. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The November issue of the magazine hit the newsstands at A$8.95 </p><p>with a total circulation of 30,000. The title will provide IT </p><p>professionals with reports on emerging technologies and services, </p><p>covering the Australian market. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The magazine has invested A$100,000 (US$51,649) in </p><p>promotions and advertising, including online ads, point of sale </p><p>initiatives and exhibition sponsorships. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>ZDNet Australia's general manager, Alison Day, said she was encouraged </p><p>by the findings of ZDNet's research over the year. "Results of our focus </p><p>group testing showed 84 per cent of IT managers said they were 'very </p><p>interested' in the T&B concept, and 71 per cent said they would buy the </p><p>title." The launch issue has 176 pages with 64 pages of advertising. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
