MEDIA-I: WebWatch data allows market comparisons
<p>HONG KONG: A global web survey has been released by </p><p>Nielsen//NetRatings providing marketers with monthly data to compare </p><p>cross-country and cross-regional internet behaviour in 29 countries. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>According to the research company, Global WebWatch estimates an internet </p><p>universe of 445 million people worldwide. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The results of the report show that internet users spend an average of </p><p>almost nine hours per month surfing the web. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The survey also shows Korea holding on to its lead in the monthly </p><p>rankings in Asia-Pacific and worldwide in terms of average usage figures </p><p>per surfer. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Hong Kong took second place for the number of domains visited and time </p><p>spent each month online. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Hugh Bloch, ACNielsen eRatings, North Asia managing director, said: "Of </p><p>the top 10 domains in Asia-Pacific ranked by total regional unique </p><p>audience, six are Korean domains, and when ranked by page views, seven </p><p>are Korean. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"These are clear indicators of the popularity of the internet among </p><p>Korean surfers and its global leadership position on a number of key </p><p>metrics." </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
