According to findings by research company NFO World Group - Hong Kong,
Korea has the highest internet access in the region.
While the country's overall internet access was found to be similar to
that in Japan, its depth of coverage was considerably higher.
The researcher also found that internet users in Japan spent less time
online compared with users in other countries.
It added that while internet penetration in China remains low, users
there spent more time on the internet than in other countries.
Internet users in Singapore and Taiwan were also more likely to spend
longer periods online.
The web impact index is a composite index that measures the extent and
depth of internet usage in each country among a population aged between
15 and 59 years.
The index looked at the proportion of population that spends more than
seven hours a week access the internet in seven regional countries,
including Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, China and
Taiwan.
