MEDIA-I: Web shop shifts focus to mobile services in HK
<p>The Hong Kong office of digital transactions solutions provider </p><p>e-New Media has written off its internet business to focus on its </p><p>telecommunications and investments portfolio. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The company has also launched SMSinasia, targeting the 18 to 35-year-old </p><p>segment. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The company's internet businesses initially included WorldinAsia, 3-D </p><p>chat room and HyperCD, an online security system which allowed companies </p><p>to crack down on copyright issues. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The company's marketing and corporate communications manager, Charmaine </p><p>Cheng, said: "The internet is just one of our businesses. Our portfolio </p><p>also includes telecommunications projects and the operation of </p><p>recreational clubs in Hong Kong and Shanghai. We will limit our </p><p>investment in the internet market until the trading environment </p><p>improves." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>However, the company's Singapore office will continue to offer </p><p>3-D animation services to clients. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>E-New Media has partnered with mobile operators SmarTone, Sunday and </p><p>Extra to provide services such as mobile games, logos and downloads </p><p>through SMS. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
