The Hong Kong office of digital transactions solutions provider

e-New Media has written off its internet business to focus on its

telecommunications and investments portfolio.

The company has also launched SMSinasia, targeting the 18 to 35-year-old

segment.

The company's internet businesses initially included WorldinAsia, 3-D

chat room and HyperCD, an online security system which allowed companies

to crack down on copyright issues.

The company's marketing and corporate communications manager, Charmaine

Cheng, said: "The internet is just one of our businesses. Our portfolio

also includes telecommunications projects and the operation of

recreational clubs in Hong Kong and Shanghai. We will limit our

investment in the internet market until the trading environment

improves."

However, the company's Singapore office will continue to offer

3-D animation services to clients.

E-New Media has partnered with mobile operators SmarTone, Sunday and

Extra to provide services such as mobile games, logos and downloads

through SMS.
