MEDIA-I: Web-enabled firms in S'pore close to 100pc
<p>Singapore's internet access is on the rise, according to the city's </p><p>Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), with 98.7 per cent of all </p><p>companies now web enabled, leaving a mere one per cent of firms not </p><p>connected to the web. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The IDA also said business to business (B2B) will be worth Sdollars 109 </p><p>billion (USdollars 59.92 billion) this year, up from Sdollars 92 billion </p><p>last year. It added B2B trade with countries such as Malaysia, </p><p>Indonesia, Taiwan, China, South Korea and Japan, was also on the </p><p>rise. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Separately, marketers are most likely to find young women online at </p><p>career, education and banking sites, according to recent analysis from </p><p>Nielsen//NetRatings, which found that panadaplanet, jobsdb and hangseng </p><p>registered the strongest skew towards female surfers. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Of all Hong Kong web surfers visiting pandaplanet in March, the largest </p><p>group was women aged 21 to 34, comprising 46 per cent of total visitors </p><p>to the domain and the strongest skew towards this group," the survey </p><p>found. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The report added that the top 10 domains with a disproportionately high </p><p>number of females aged 21 to 34 were those related to education and </p><p>careers. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
