SINGAPORE: American online auction company ebay has launched a

Singapore website at ebay.com.sg.

The website is a country-specific site localised for Singapore's

internet users. The site groups items and services which are being sold

within Singapore separately. The new site still allows access to ebay's

global listings.

It has been launched in time for the upcoming holiday season, which

according to research company Gartner, will see online sales rise by

53.4 per cent in Asia-Pacific, excluding Japan.

The new Singapore website is the online auction company's fourth in the

Asia-Pacific region. It also operates national sites in Japan and

Korea.

Ebay also has a website for Australia and New Zealand through a joint

venture with Ecorp in Australia.
