SINGAPORE: Nokia Networks, a long-standing client of advertising agency

Contra, is to send a 20-strong team of Nokia marketing support staff to

the agency in July.

The transfer of marketing staff to the ad agency is expected to help

Contra develop its future marketing services.

With a worldwide remit, the unit will be based in Helsinki and will

initially concentrate on providing services for Nokia.

However, it will shortly be developed into a division focusing on mobile

and event-related advertising available to all Contra's future clients

in the global mobile media markets.

Contra senior partner, Antti Ohrling, said Contra, which offers brand

marketing for mobile media, will position Nokia staff at Contra offices

in Singapore, London and San Francisco.

With the transfer of Nokia staff to the agency, the company will employ

a total of 100 people.

Nokia Networks vice-president of marketing, Matt Wisk, said: "Nokia

Networks and Contra have a long history of co-operation in marketing

communications; therefore this decision to expand co-operation between

the two companies was a natural one for us."
