MEDIA-I: Nokia transfers marketing staff to ad agency
<p>SINGAPORE: Nokia Networks, a long-standing client of advertising agency </p><p>Contra, is to send a 20-strong team of Nokia marketing support staff to </p><p>the agency in July. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The transfer of marketing staff to the ad agency is expected to help </p><p>Contra develop its future marketing services. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>With a worldwide remit, the unit will be based in Helsinki and will </p><p>initially concentrate on providing services for Nokia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>However, it will shortly be developed into a division focusing on mobile </p><p>and event-related advertising available to all Contra's future clients </p><p>in the global mobile media markets. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Contra senior partner, Antti Ohrling, said Contra, which offers brand </p><p>marketing for mobile media, will position Nokia staff at Contra offices </p><p>in Singapore, London and San Francisco. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>With the transfer of Nokia staff to the agency, the company will employ </p><p>a total of 100 people. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Nokia Networks vice-president of marketing, Matt Wisk, said: "Nokia </p><p>Networks and Contra have a long history of co-operation in marketing </p><p>communications; therefore this decision to expand co-operation between </p><p>the two companies was a natural one for us." </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
