MEDIA-I: Nielsen gets go ahead for China internet study

<p>BEIJING: Nielsen//NetRatings has received Government approval to </p><p>conduct internet research in China. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The research company will start building an audience measurement panel </p><p>in China immediately, with the service is expected to be up and running </p><p>early next year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Nielsen//NetRatings obtained approval after working with the Chinese </p><p>Government to adhere to regulations and to ensure protection of </p><p>panellists' privacy. In compliance with regulations and to localise the </p><p>service offering, the research company has partnered with a Chinese </p><p>company for software development and testing. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Research company iamasia also has approval to conduct research in China, </p><p>according to Steve Yap, director, marketing and communications. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
