BEIJING: Nielsen//NetRatings has received Government approval to
conduct internet research in China.
The research company will start building an audience measurement panel
in China immediately, with the service is expected to be up and running
early next year.
Nielsen//NetRatings obtained approval after working with the Chinese
Government to adhere to regulations and to ensure protection of
panellists' privacy. In compliance with regulations and to localise the
service offering, the research company has partnered with a Chinese
company for software development and testing.
Research company iamasia also has approval to conduct research in China,
according to Steve Yap, director, marketing and communications.
