MEDIA-I: Konica launches members drive for photo service
<p>TAIWAN: Konica has launched an online photo-sharing community at </p><p>photome.com.tw to help build an online photo-sharing service similar to </p><p>that offered by numerous US-based sites such as ofoto.com. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Leo Burnett director of integrated and digital services, Larry Lok, said </p><p>the emarketing campaign was developed to promote the photome.com.tw </p><p>website, which failed to gather a membership base when it was launched a </p><p>year ago. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The site allows users to download pictures and change pictures, as well </p><p>as share pictures with friends over the internet. It's a standard </p><p>digital photo website." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The website was promoted through banner ads, which included an ad that </p><p>flashed on the home page with the tag line: "We've just taken a photo of </p><p>you. See yourself online". </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Konica didn't expect high results, but the campaign increased the </p><p>membership base by 100 per cent over a six-week period," said Lok. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
