TAIWAN: Konica has launched an online photo-sharing community at
photome.com.tw to help build an online photo-sharing service similar to
that offered by numerous US-based sites such as ofoto.com.
Leo Burnett director of integrated and digital services, Larry Lok, said
the emarketing campaign was developed to promote the photome.com.tw
website, which failed to gather a membership base when it was launched a
year ago.
"The site allows users to download pictures and change pictures, as well
as share pictures with friends over the internet. It's a standard
digital photo website."
The website was promoted through banner ads, which included an ad that
flashed on the home page with the tag line: "We've just taken a photo of
you. See yourself online".
"Konica didn't expect high results, but the campaign increased the
membership base by 100 per cent over a six-week period," said Lok.
