MEDIA-I: Job hunters look online as jobsdb takes first place
<p>Job seekers in Asia are choosing online employment sites over newspaper </p><p>classifieds, according to a recent report by NetValue. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The fact that people in Asia are turning to employment sites for job </p><p>opportunities shows that internet users bring their offline activities </p><p>online," said NetValue vice-president of sales and marketing, Clayton </p><p>Fitts. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"This also indicates that some people are using the internet wisely by </p><p>choosing tools which apply to their professional needs rather than </p><p>merely for entertainment or gathering basic information." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Jobsdb.com was the most popular website in the employment sector for </p><p>three consecutive months. However, the report added, "In terms of page </p><p>views per user, jobsdb.com does not appear to have the muscle of its </p><p>competitors". </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>While the site has high traffic of visitors at 5.1 per cent, its unique </p><p>pages per user were low at 12 per cent. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, employment site mpgoldenet.com had the "opposite conditions", </p><p>with 24.3 unique pages per user and a 2.6 per cent reach, while </p><p>pandaplanet.com presented a more balanced formula with a 4.4 per cent </p><p>reach and 27.4 per cent unique pages per user. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Separately, the researcher found the profile and composition of visitors </p><p>to gambling sites remained relatively unchanged since January. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
