MEDIA-I: Ion Global beefs up with global leadership setup

<p>HONG KONG: Ion Global, formerly named Web Connection, has boosted </p><p>its management team with the appointment of six executives from the </p><p>consulting and internet professional services industries. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The company has also appointed a global leadership council, a network of </p><p>executives that will guide Ion Global's strategy . </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The new appointments follow last month's rebranding of the company, </p><p>which shifted its focus from web design to present a broader, global </p><p>image. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Peter Hamilton, chief executive officer, said the company had spent the </p><p>last six months deploying a "more networked organisational </p><p>structure". </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Vanessa Kirby will lead the user experience team at Ion Global, which </p><p>integrates design, content and information architecture. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The company has also appointed a new managing director of Asean, Natesan </p><p>Ramesh, who will develop business in South Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Ramesh joined Ion Global from USInteractive in the US and prior to that </p><p>was director at Asia Strategy Practice of Accenture (formerly Andersen </p><p>Consulting). </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Jian Ma will be responsible for managing and growing the company's </p><p>business across China, while Paul Li will lead the supply chain practice </p><p>for Greater China. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Edmond Wong, previously from Chinadotcom, will head the strategy </p><p>competency in Hong Kong by helping clients plan and execute e-business </p><p>strategies. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The company has also hired Eddie Yung to help develop the communications </p><p>and technology practice. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
